So, Solo aka Solange Knowles performed yesterday at Coachella 2014 the 2-day music festival in California. As she came to the end of her set and whilst performing my current ringtone (lol!) her song ‘Losing You’ she was joined on stage by her big sister Beyoncé for cute display of sisterly support.
Totally here for it! Her outro comments also made me smile. Solo is Trill!
P.s. Apparently Bey was rocking Topshop 🙂
If you haven’t caught yourself singing or humming Pharrell Williams’ uplifting and infectious song ‘Happy’ yet I’m going to have to ask you to check your pulse to make sure you’re all the way human.
The song immediately brings a smile to my face whenever I hear it but when I stumbled upon this clip from the US talk-show host Ellen’s show it took the song to a whole new level for me.
The backstory to this is that a video of the Detroit Academy of Arts and Sciences choir singing Pharrell’s ‘Happy’ was posted on-line a few weeks back which went viral, it eventually caught Ellen’s attention and she (doing what she does best) set up this great experience for the kids most of whom are poor, underprivileged and living at or on the poverty line in Detriot.
You’ve got to love Ellen (and Pharrell) for this one 🙂
Was it just me or did it look like Pharrell was getting a bit choked up watching the kids perform?
Hope you enjoyed this as much as I did.
P.s. wasn’t the kids reaction when the camera crew came in and then when they saw Pharrell in the studio with Ellen absolutely priceless?? *huge smile*
I just took the time to listen to Alicia Keys new song… On point and inspirational should you need it and perhaps fits with the post below.
…If you notice that I’m different, dont be mad, it’s just a brand new kind of me…”
If you were a friend, you’d want to get to know me again.
If you were worth the while, you’d be happy to see me smile.
I’m not expecting sorry, I’m too busy finding myself. I got this, I found me, I found me!”
Wow, I love the bold sentiments of this song and I’m a sucker for good songwriting, it really does create beautiful art.
Sidenote 1: I love that Alicia wasn’t afraid, not only to practice in front of the live audience before she started this song but also to tell them exactly what she did. We should never be afraid to practice before we’re ready to deliver, in life, in love, in work wherever; life isn’t necessarily made up of perfect takes.
Sidenote 2: Emile Sande is amazing…fact.
